Ingredients
- 1 3.4 ounces box instant banana cream pudding
- 2 cups Half and Half
- 8 ounces cream cheese at room temperature
- 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 8 ounces whip topping thawed
How To Make Banana Cream Pie Dip
The process is simple and the ingredients are few – 6 to be exact. That is a winning combination right there!
To make this Banana Cream Pie Dip, I use a handheld electric mixer because I feel it speeds up the process. Of course, you can use a whisk if you wish.
First, mix the pudding with the Half & Half. You can use whole milk as well, although the final result may not be as rich and creamy. The mixture will look as if it is setting right before your eyes. That is expected.
Then beat the cream cheese, powdered sugar and vanilla extract. Room temperature cream cheese is key for quick and creamy results.
Next, whisk in the whip topping. I like to add it in two batches, making sure the first batch is completely incorporated before I add the remaining whip topping.
Lastly, mix the pudding mixture with the cream cheese mixture. It will look fluffy and creamy.
This is the time when you will have to show some restraint and stop yourself from eating it!
I top the creamy dip with sliced bananas and crushed Nilla wafers. PRO-TIP: Some toasted coconut is amazing sprinkled on top too!
What to Dip in this Banana Cram Pie Dip
Now the fun part, the dippers. There are so many possibilities – banana slices and Nilla Wafers are a must. I also love having graham crackers, strawberries and my favorite – big pieces of chocolate (because banana and chocolate are perfect together).
Make Ahead and How to Store
Without the toppings, this dip will keep well in the refrigerator for up to 3 days making it a great make-ahead dessert. Just make sure to store it in an airtight container.

I wonder how it would turn out with mashed banana in it, too.
At the top it says that there is vanilla extrac in the recipe, but itโs not listed in the ingredients. How much vanilla extract do I add?
This has to be amazing with nilla cookies. Great combo!

I have a scrumptious recipe from when I was growing up…cook n serve banana cream pudding, vanilla wafers & sliced bananas! Wafers, then bananas, then pudding with sliced bananas & crushed wafers on top! I can literally sit down & eat the whole thing, as well as I can with custard!
