Once upon a time, there was a mom who was excited about spring’s arrival and wanted to do something “cute and crafty” with her kids. Sadly, they were not as thrilled at the prospect of searching Pinterest for spring-themed crafts. However, being boys (who are constantly and at all times hungry) they happily crowded into the kitchen to make these Chocolate Covered Oreo Critter Cookies.

Chocolate Covered Oreo Critter Cookies a super cute and easy spring dessert

It’s me. I’m the mom. And my three boys are the hungry, less-than-thrilled-with-crafting kids. Hi, Pinky Pals. It’s Nicole from Simple and Seasonal again. ๐Ÿ™‚ I’m excited to share these cute cookies with you as a great idea for spending some time with your kids during spring break! They are no bake, which keeps things simple. You just need a few supplies and a little time!

Chocolate Covered Oreo Critter Cookies supplies needed

I started out with the intent to make ladybugs. I was going to get red candy melts and use black gel to add the dots and lines for a cute little bug. However, I couldn’t find any red candy melts, and when I tried to color the white candy, it seized up (even with gel coloring.) So I tossed that out and we decided to just make “cutie bugs” with whatever color sprinkles we had on hand.

While the boys made their bugs, I made a cute little Easter chick and a duck. They would be really cute in this year’s Easter baskets, I think! You can also put these on a stick and serve them as cookie pops!
