Summer is just around the corner and this easy banana split dessert recipe should be on the top of your to do list.
It’s quick and delicious and won’t take long to put together. Not only that, but it doesn’t require any baking or any ice cream!
Hi all, it’s Jen again from the blog PinkWhen. Summer is basically here and this easy banana split dessert recipe should be topping your to do list.
I love all things about Summer and being outdoors. We are all anxiously awaiting the pools to open and the picnics to begin. We tend to have a few big picnics and get togethers over the Summer and I am always the one who likes to bring dessert.
If you follow my blog, you can find a ton of other Summery desserts, but this might be one of the easiest.
Banana Splits are an ice cream past time for our family. I can remember growing up in Maryland when I was a child and heading out to the ice cream shop with my family.
I would always beg and plead for a banana split and my mom would always share it with me. Today, it’s the same with my youngest and myself.

I like to make things really simple, so I use instant pudding. It’s super easy, especially if you are on a time crunch. It literally takes two minutes to whisk and five minutes to set. It doesn’t get much faster than that.
Easy Banana Split Recipe
Ingredients
- 1 package chocolate pudding
- 1 package banana pudding
- 1 sliced banana
- crushed pretzels
- whipped cream
- chocolate powder
- cherries
Instructions
- Start things off by making the pudding. This only takes a couple of minutes and then let it sit for 5 minutes.
- During the five minutes of setting time, I take my pretzels and crush them and slice the banana to add to the banana pudding bowl.
- While you could probably make this dessert in a 9 x 13 dish, I love making these in singles serving glasses. It takes just a little extra time, but I love the way they look when finished.
- Once you have the pudding set, I take the glasses and layer the ingredients. You can do these in any order, but I like to start with the chocolate first. Add a layer of pretzels, and then add the banana pudding with bananas. I have been able to make 6 individual sized cups with just two packages of pudding.
- Once you have these layers done, set the desserts in the fridge or a cool place until you are ready to serve them. This also allows more time for the pudding to set just right.
- When you are ready to serve, add the whipped cream, sprinkle with the powdered chocolate and top it all off with a cherry.
