- Yellow onion
- Unsalted butter

- Salt & pepper
- Cream cheese
- Grated pecorino-romano cheese – If you do not like pecorino-romano cheese, grated parmesan cheese will be just as delicious. This would make it very similar to a fettuccine alfredo sauce.
- Fresh parsley (optional garnish) – You can substitute chopped chives or green onions for the parsley. You can also add an extra ¼ cup of grated cheese for the garnish
Substitutions and Additions
- PROTEIN: This dish is delicious with the addition of grilled boneless-skinless chicken breast, grilled shrimp, or salmon for added protein to the meal. I love to use a rotisserie chicken cut up in my pasta dishes.
- VEGETABLES: Feel free to add your favorite vegetables to your pasta. I personally love to add broccoli and mushrooms to mine!
