This is also the perfect time for me to break out and make my favorite Monkey Bread Recipe.

How to make Instant Pot Monkey Bread Recipe

What do you need to make the Instant Pot monkey bread recipe?

First, you need a smaller than normal bundt cake pan. I picked up a 6 cup bundt pan just for using with my Instant pot.

This easy Instant Pot Monkey Bread recipe is one of our favorite lazy day snacks and a perfect recipe if you are new to pressure cooking.

Instant Pot Monkey Bread ingredients:

  • 1/4 cup white sugar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 2 packages of biscuit dough (one butter, one regular flavor cut into small pieces)
  • 1 Tbsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 Tbsp powdered sugar
  • 1 large ziplock bag
  • 1 1/2 cups of water
  • foil

Instant Pot Monkey Bread instructions:

To get started, add the 1 1/2 cup of water to the Instant pot and add the trivet that came with your pressure cooker.

Bread and Instant Pot

Add the white sugar, cinnamon, and biscuit dough to the ziplock bag and then shake well until everything is coated.

Place a long strip of foil that is rolled into the Instant pot over the trivet with the sides coming up to the top.

Place the mixture into your bundt pan, and then place the bundt pan over the foil on the trivet.

Fold the foil strips over so that they don’t get caught in the grooves when you attach the lid. (We will be using the foil strip as makeshift handles when we remove the bundt pan from the pot after cooking.)

A tray of food

Place the lid and turn until locked. Set the manual mode for 20 minutes and allow your bread to cook.

Once the time has finished, do a quick release and carefully remove the monkey bread from the Instant Pot. (Be careful as your bundt pan will still be hot.)

Over medium heat melt the butter, vanilla, and brown sugar. Place the monkey bread on a plate, and then drizzle the top with the butter and brown sugar.

I made this for breakfast Christmas morning. It was fabulous! I questioned the powdered sugar as others did, but was able to figure it out. Mine turned out perfect! Quick, simple, and delicious! Doesn’t get much better than that!

Made it this morning as part of a Christmas brunch. I have that exact blue Bundt pan, so it seemed meant to be. It turned out perfectly. No idea what the negativity was about. Thanks for the easy and fun idea.

  3. The nasty comments were unnecessary. Unfortunately, I did not have good results with this. It was cooked on the top but when I flipped it on to a plate, realized it was still doughy. I ended up emptying it into a pan and sticking it in the oven at 350 until done. The flavor was really good, just not a great presentation. If you use the butter/brown sugar mixture, I would suggest making only about a 1/3 of ingredients and drizzling it. Either that or a mixture of powdered sugar and just enough milk to make a glaze. While I wouldn’t call this an epic fail, I’ll be sticking to my oven recipe for monkey bread in the future.

If you boil the brown sugar and butter for one minute on the stove it makes a caramel smooth topping glaze. It’s yummy

I bet you could use that super cute pan for a lot of other great recipes. I’d love to see what others you’ve tried or that you do.

I am guessing it goes in the glaze. Hard to tell. This recipe is very poorly written; the ingredients are not listed in the order used, either. Blogger has a lot to learn.

I followed your recipe as much as possible, considering the mess it is in. Soggy, disgusting mess. Your “glaze” is another digusting slurry of melted butter and brown sugar. A total waste of groceries. You should go back to playing Barbies and forget about blogging recipes. You suck at it.

      1. 5 stars
Wow! A simple “this recipe didn’t work for me” would’ve sufficed. What’s with taking so much time out of your life to be so hateful and negative to a perfect stranger? Not to mention, she clearly states in her bio that she spent twenty years in the not-for-profit realm, and is raising three boys? I’d imagine “Barbie” isn’t really on her radar. But so what if she was?? Thanks for sharing, Jenn!

      2. 4 stars
Harsh and just plain mean. To throw back for her, if your so fancy you should have known to not waste your time making butter brown sugar slurry.
Mine turned out great! Not a soggy mess. Haven’t tasted it yet but the beginnings are turning out just fine. Thanks for something new to try in my ip.

      3. Have you ever herd the term “If you can’t say something nice, say nothing at all”? You are very rude.

      4. 4 stars
@Barb. As everyone else has said you are rude. I just made this and mine came out great. I am not lazy like you and followed the instructions on how to make it not the way the ingredients are listed. Don’t be so lazy and write the ingredients the correct way on a recipe card if you are so bothered by it.
My glaze and monkey bread was not soggy or messy. Maybe you don’t know how to use your IP or you just like writing bad reviews.

      5. One important step was left out. You MUST cover the bundt pan with foil before putting it into the instant pot. Otherwise, you get a soggy mess from the water dripping off the inside of the lid onto the bread.

      6. @Becca. Thanks for saying why we need to cover with foil. I thought this was the reason but you confirmed it. Thank you!

  5. I love monkey bread and am curious about making it in my instant pot! So quick and so delicious. I’ll definitely be looking over your other instant pot recipes as I’m a newbie user and am on the prowl for recipes. Thanks!
