Sangria With Fireball

Our Sangria With Fireball recipe takes all the festive flavors of fresh apple cider and cinnamon, mixes it with sweet, fruity flavors, and spikes it with an extra bit of booze using Fireball Whiskey! It tastes like my Apple Cider Martini with a spicy cinnamon twist.

A Rainbow Sangria recipe may be a summertime staple and Apple Cider Sangria may be flavored for fall, but when winter brings cold weather, you need a boozy beverage to balance the cool temperature with the heat from Fireball.

Christmas sangria cocktails are always fun to sip while sitting by the fireplace or trimming the holiday tree because when you add a kick to your wine sangria drinks, you’ve perfected your pitcher of apple sangria with a Fireball whiskey punch!

Why We Love Fireball Sangria Recipes

  • Quick and easy to make in only 5 minutes.
  • Uses a handful of simple ingredients.
  • When sweet, fruity flavors are mixed with cinnamon whisky, it masks most of the alcohol taste, making this dangerously very drinkable!
  • Perfect for cozy nighttime gatherings, seasonal parties, or serving for Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s celebrations.

Substitutions and Additions

  • Garnish Your Glass: Feel free to add a festive feel to your Christmas cocktails. Add skewers of cinnamon candies (like Hot Tamales), some fresh orange and apple slices, or cinnamon sticks to garnish your glasses before serving.

How to Make Fireball Sangria

  1. Prepare The Pitcher: Pour the red wine, apple cider, Fireball whisky, Triple-Sec, orange pieces, and apple cubes into the pitcher. Stir to combine.
  2. Chill: Chill in the refrigerator for a minimum of 12 hours or up to 24 hours.
Pro Tip: The longer the fruit sits in the wine, the sweeter your sangria will become and the darker your fruit will get.
  3. Serve: Add the sangria-soaked fruit into a wine glass, then pour 8 ounces of the sangria mixture over the fruit. Garnishes your glass before serving. Enjoy!

Tips For Making Sangria With Fireball

  • This Fireball Sangria is best served chilled.
  • Do not add ice to the sangria, as the ice will water down the wine once it melts. It is best to allow the sangria to chill completely in the refrigerator.
  • You will want to be mindful that the longer the fruit sits in the wine, the softer it will become. Don’t forget that your sangria-soaked fruit is edible (and delicious) if desired.

How to Store Fireball Sangria

  • To Store: Once the Sangria with Fireball is mixed together, you can store it in the refrigerator for 4-5 days.

Frequently Asked Questions

What can I use instead of fresh apple cider?

You can substitute the fresh apple cider in this recipe for a spiced fresh apple cider. The spiced apple cider has plenty of warm spices added to it and will pair well with the cinnamon flavor in the Fireball, making this Sangria perfect for a holiday cocktail. You can also substitute regular apple juice for fresh apple cider if desired. The apple juice will make your Sangria slightly sweeter than the apple cider.

Which type of apple is best for this recipe?

I prefer a HoneyCrisp apple for my red apple in this recipe as they are crisp, sweet, and mildly tart apples that hold up well when soaked in the Sangria liquids. Pink Lady or Gala apples are other good options for this recipe.

What red wine should I use for my sangria?

Most red wines will work in this sangria. I think a medium or full-bodied wine, such as a Cabernet Sauvignon, a Rioja, or Pinot Noir, will taste delicious.
