How to Make Secret Kiss Cookies

This Kiss Cookie recipe will come together quickly and easily! There are only 3 main steps. First, make the dough. Next, wrap the kiss with the dough. Finally, bake and coat with powdered sugar. These are so easy and delicious.

  1. In a large bowl, Bbeat the softened butter. Then add in sugar and vanilla and mix well.

  2. Add flour and mix until well combined. Cover the cookie dough and chill for 30 minutes (unitl the dough is firm but you donโ€™t want it stiff). Scoop about 1 tablespoon of dough into balls.

  3. Flatten the dough ball to fit around the Hersheyโ€™s kiss. Place an unwrapped kiss in the center and fold the dough to cover each chocolate.

  4. Place on a prepared baking sheet and bake for 10-12 minutes (they should be set but not browned โ€“ just slightly around the edges). Allow cookies to cool slightly for 8-10 minutes (you can let cool on a wire rack).

  5. Roll in powdered sugar and let cool completely.
    TIP: The powdered sugar will stick a bit easier when the cookies are slightly warm roll them in the sugar.

Substitutions and Additions

  • HERSHEYโ€™S KISSES: You can use any flavor of Hersheyโ€™s Kisses that you like for this recipe. It can be fun to switch them up based on holidays. For example, I love using peppermint kisses around Christmas time, or the hot chocolate kisses are delicious too! Some of our other favorites are:

  • 1 cup salted sweet cream butter softened
  • ยฝ cup + 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1ยผ teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 32 Hershey Kisses unwrapped
  • 2 cups powdered sugar or more if needed

    Instructions
     

    • Using a stand mixer, or a medium size mixing bowl and a handheld mixer on medium-high speed, beat the softened butter for 1 minute.
    • Add the sugar and vanilla extract, and continue mixing for 1 minute.
    • Add the flour and mix on  low for 30 seconds to 1 minute, until the dry ingredients are well combined. Cover the cookie dough and chill in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.
    • Preheat the oven to 375*. Line 2 baking sheets with parchment paper.
    • Using a 1 tablespoon cookie scoop, scoop out the cookie dough. PRO-TIP: Use a heaping scoop to make sure there is enough dough to cover the chocolate Kiss.
    • Roll the cookie dough into a ball.
    • Using your hands, flatten the cookie dough ball to fit around the unwrapped kiss.
    • Place the unwrapped kiss in the center of the flattened cookie dough and fold the dough up around the kiss.
    • Place the shaped dough 2 inches apart.
    • Bake for 10 โ€“ 12 minutes.
    • Allow the cookies to cool on the cookie sheet for 8 โ€“ 10 minutes.
    • Roll the cookies in the powdered sugar. Return the coated cookies to the baking sheet to completely cool.

      This turned out so much better than expected. I ended up adding 1 egg and about 2 T milk to get it the consistency I wanted. In the end, it was a huge hit with my family!
