With the holidays over, it is time to set our sights on one of my favorite times of the year, football playoff season!
I live in Western Pennsylvania and football is king here. We love our team and love getting together for big playoff parties.
While I love watching the game, I also love eating all the football food! Chips and dip, meatballs, cheesy dips, and of course, no party would be complete without my famous jalapeno popper corn dip!

I have been making this dip for years and it is always one of my most requested recipes.
Another dip that is always a winner is our Crockpot Nacho Cheese Dip. It is another one of those great recipes that you can make before your guests arrive and it is ready and waiting for them!
Recently, I saw one of those fun food videos on Facebook and saw that they put popper dip into a wonton cup!
Its like getting your chips and dip all in one container! I knew that this idea would work perfectly for my famous dip! This is so easy too and completely make ahead, which I love.
Hence the birth of my Jalapeno Popper Wonton Cup recipe!
You can prepare the wontons and dip in advance, and then right before serving, pop into the oven and you are ready to go!
I adapted my recipe and left out the corn, thinking it may have been too much texture with the crunchy won tons. If you love corn, leave it in!
This wonton cup appetizer is super adaptable and you can add more or less jalapenos depending on your spice preference or swap the cheddar cheese for whatever you have on hand.
You can also change it up by adding other yummy fillings for the ingredients. Perhaps stuffing the wontons with some buffalo chicken, taco meat, you could even make them into pizza wonton cups!
Just play around with the ingredients to customize your wonton cup appetizers.
There are two must haves for this dip though. One, don’t skip the green chiles. It gives the dip tang and flavor and balances the heat of the jalapeno.
Second, make sure to shred the cheese yourself. It makes for a much smoother, creamier dip!
Will you be watching football this month or are you not a fan? Either way, you will want to have this easy appetizer recipe in your back pocket for entertaining!
