Homemade Caramel Apple Dip

Nothing beats the classic, comforting taste of a caramel apple. I remember getting them at the fair as a kid! But, they can be quite an undertaking to make at home, which is why I love this caramel apple dip. You get the same amazing flavors, with no mess. Plus, it’s easy to put together in less than 10 minutes.

My kiddos absolutely love this and actually request it, which makes me so happy because it means they want to eat more apples! I am always sure to have the ingredients on hand so I can throw it together any time, and love it for an after school snack. It also makes for a fabulous sweet appetizer for a game day party for the adults, and serves as a healthier option when paired with fruit.

Ingredients/Shopping List

  • Cream cheese – You can use ⅓ fat cream cheese in this recipe! I have done so many times and you can’t notice a difference in the taste.
  • Cool whip
  • Salted caramel sauce
  • White chocolate chips -You could leave the chocolate chips out, or use a different kind such as milk or dark chocolate, if preferred.
  • Toffee bits – The toffee bits in this recipe are completely optional. I love the crunch they add, but some don’t. You could also split your dip into 2 bowls and make half with toffee and half without!
  • Apples

Tips

  • If you want to prepare your apples for your dip ahead of time, slice the apples and place them in a bowl of water with a few drops of honey. Submerge all of the apples and try them off with a paper towel when ready to serve. This will help to keep them from browning!
  • Be sure not to overmix your dip, as it may get a bit soupy. For this same reason, you’ll want to be sure that in between servings, you keep this dip nice and cold in the fridge.

Frequently Asked Questions

How to Store Caramel Apple Dip?

Store leftover caramel apple dip in the refrigerator in a sealed container. It will stay good this way for 3-4 days. Unfortunately, it doesn’t freeze well, but it’s so easy to whip up that it’s best to make this dip fresh when you want to serve it!

Can I Make This Dip Ahead of Time?

Yes, this dip can definitely be made ahead of time. Just leave off the salted caramel and toffee bits until you are ready to serve your caramel apple dip. Then top it off right before serving. I actually prefer to make this ahead of time because it allows the dip to set and get nice and cold.

What to Serve With Caramel Apple Dip?

You can serve this dip with sliced apples of course, any kind will do. I love Granny Smith! Other fruit like strawberries, grapes, or pears works well, too! You could also serve this with cookies or graham crackers for dipping. Or, balance the sweetness of this dip with something salty, like pretzels!

  1. You don’t have to post my comment – there’s a word in your directions that doesn’t quite work:
You have – spit the bowl – it should say ‘split’ / spit gives a whole different meaning what to do!
