Cheeseburger Tacos take seasoned meat, cheese, and condiments and fold them inside a flour tortilla. A delicious dinner idea when you can decide between a burger or a taco!
In a large skillet over medium-high heat, cook the ground beef until fully cooked and no longer pink. Drain off excess fat and return the beef to the skillet.
1 pound lean ground beef
Add garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper and shredded cheddar cheese to the cooked beef. Stir until the cheese is fully melted.
Distribute the flavorful beef mixture into the flour tortillas and garnish with your desired toppings.
6 flour tortillas
Serve the cheeseburger tacos immediately, with extra toppings on the side for customization. Enjoy this quick and delicious twist on traditional tacos!
Notes
Storage:
To Store: Store leftover tacos in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
To Freeze: The cooked beef mixture can be frozen in a sealed container for up to 3 months. Thaw it in the refrigerator before reheating.
To Reheat: Reheat the meat mixture in the microwave or on the stovetop.
Tips:
I used dried seasonings in this recipe to give a more “cheeseburger flavor” since this is how burgers are seasoned.
Feel free to add fresh onion and garlic to the skillet instead of dried seasonings.
Because cheddar cheese can be salty, I chose not to add salt to the meat. You can certainly add salt if you'd like.
Pre-shredded cheese works well and can save you some time in preparation.
This recipe can easily be doubled or tripled to serve a crowd. You can prepare all the toppings and the ground beef, then arrange them like you would a traditional taco bar and let everyone assemble their own cheeseburger tacos.
