Chicken and Waffle Sliders are easy, fast finger food with the best balance of sweet, savory, crispy and crunchy. Delicious any time of day and great for group gatherings.
Prepare pancake and waffle mix according to package directions. Make sure you are following the specific instructions for waffles.
2 cups pancake and waffle mix
Heat a waffle bite maker and cook mini waffles until golden brown. You will need about 32 mini waffles in total.
Remove the waffles from the waffle maker and separate them into small circles, placing them on a large serving plate.
Spread ¼ teaspoon of bacon jam over 16 of the mini waffles.
4 teaspoons bacon jam
Heat the Chicken Wings as directed on the package. I prefer to use the air fryer method which cooks for 4-5 minutes on each side. However you can use whichever method you prefer, just be sure they are heated to 165 degrees Fahrenheit in the middle.
16 fully cooked breaded, boneless Chicken Wings
Place a heated Chicken Wing on top of the jam on one mini waffle and top with another mini-waffle, without jam.
Use a cocktail pick or long toothpick to push through and keep the slider together.
Repeat with all remaining chicken and waffles.
Just before serving, pour the maple syrup evenly over all the sliders, making sure to get some in the waffle holes on the top.
¼ cup maple syrup
Notes
Storage:
To Store: You can store the sliders covered in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 2-3 days.
Tips:
You can omit the bacon jam, but it gives a nice savory, salty flavor to the slider. You can also add a bit of crumbled bacon instead.
Feel free to use frozen mini waffles instead of making your own with a mix in the waffle iron.
You can turn these sliders into full-size sandwiches with regular waffles and larger pieces of chicken.
Use a cocktail pick or long toothpick to push through and keep the slider together.
