Instructions
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees and prepare a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, water, egg and salt using an electric hand or stand mixer until the mixture has formed a dough-like consistency.
2 cups whole wheat flour, 1 cup water, 1 large egg, ½ teaspoon salt
Add in peanut butter and sweet potato and mix again until fully combined.
1 cup peanut butter, ¾ cup cooked sweet potato
Sprinkle a handful of whole wheat flour on a flat, clean surface to roll out the doggie treat mixture. Use the palms of your hands or a rolling pin to flatten the mixture to about ⅓ - ½ inch.
Use birthday shaped or dog bone shaped cookie cutter (cookie cutters in photos are linked in notes), and carefully cut out cookies throughout all of the dough and place them on the baking sheet. Do this until the baking sheet is full, leaving about 1 inch between cookies. You will likely cook 2-3 sheets.
Bake for 18-20 minutes.
When done, allow cookies to cool completely to room temperature.
When the cookies have cooled completely, begin creating your frosting. In a small mixing bowl (like the size of a cereal bowl) combine together yogurt and peanut butter. Mix well with a fork for 2-3 minutes (it will be thick at first) until fully mixed in. It should have the consistency of frosting.
¼ cup peanut butter, ½ cup plain greek yogurt
Use a butter knife to add the frosting to the cookies. Spread carefully and evenly, leaving an unfrosted rim around each cookie (this helps visually keep the shape).
Top with sprinkles and immediately share with your birthday pup!

Notes
Storage:
To Store: Store these dog treats in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 4-5 days after preparing.
Tips:
This dough is not sticky and should not stick to the surface or your hands. However, using flour while rolling and cutting the dough will make things even easier.
This dough does not need to chill before cooking.
Be sure you allow these to cool completely before adding frosting.
Be sure your sweet potato is cooked and cooled thoroughly before using it for this recipe. You will need less than 1 sweet potato. For the extra sweet potato pieces, you can sprinkle it inside your puppy’s dog food for their next meal.
Store the yogurt and peanut butter inside the refrigerator while baking the cookies. Having these ingredients chilled will make it easier to mix and become a firm, frosting consistency.
