Fall Harvest Muddy Buddies is filled with Chex cereal, peanut butter, and chocolate chips and coated in powdered sugar. Mix in colorful candy or your favorite sweet and salty treats.
1cupCandy Corn (I love using the Autumn Mix – it has pumpkins in too)
1cupmini pretzels
Instructions
In a small microwave safe container, combine the chocolate chips, peanut butter, and butter.
Microwave in 20 second bursts, stirring until smooth.
Add the vanilla extract and combine.
In a large bowl, add the Chex Mix and pour the melted chocolate mixture over. Stir until the Chex Mix has been evenly coated.
Transfer the Chex Mix into a large, gallon sized Ziplock bag and add the powdered sugar.
Seal the bag and shake to coat the cereal in the sugar.
Pour the mix onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and allow to cool.
Once cooled, combine the mix with the Candy Corn and pretzels.
Enjoy!
Notes
Storage:Store any leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for 5-7 days.Tips:
Muddy Buddies do not need to be refrigerated, although if you like your snack cold, feel free to keep it in the fridge.
Processed peanut butter, like Jiff or Skippy, works best in this recipe. All-natural nut butters may not set well at room temperature. If you have a peanut allergy, sunflower seed butter should work too.
If you can't find the autumn candy mix, you can buy candy corn and pumpkins separately.
