Homemade Strawberry Milk is easily made with fresh fruit and milk and is quickly blended into a nutrient-dense drink. It's fun to sip a pretty pink milk that tastes fruity and is perfectly frothy.
Add the diced strawberries and granulated white sugar to a medium bowl.
Stir them together until the strawberries are evenly coated.
Let the strawberries sit in the sugar to macerate (soften) for 30 minutes.
Place the macerated strawberries in a blender and add the milk and heavy cream.
Blend everything together until well blended and the mixture is frothy. (I ran the blender through the smoothie cycle twice).
Optional: Strain the strawberry milk into a pitcher of at least 24 ounces.
Serve in two (12 ounce) glasses or refrigerate until ready to serve.
Notes
Storage:
To Store: Store this Strawberry Milk in the refrigerator, covered, for 2-3 days.
To Freeze: Strawberry Milk can be kept safely in the freezer for up to 6 months in a freezer safe container, but the consistency may change over time. It will be best if used within one month.
Tips:
Since the sweetness of strawberries can vary, feel free to adjust the sweetener to suit your tastebuds.
Don’t be too quick to throw out the strained strawberries. They are delicious in a bowl of greek yogurt, over vanilla ice cream, or even mixed into cottage cheese.
If you want to avoid lactose, use any type of lactose-free milk you prefer.
