This Pigs In A Blanket Wreath will add a festive flair to your holiday table. Easy to make in minutes with minimal ingredients, this recipe transforms an everyday appetizer into an edible centerpiece experience!
16ounces(2 8-ounce) containers original crescent rolls
12ouncespackage smoked cocktail sausages
1large egg
1tablespoonpoppy seeds
Rosemarygarnish
Cherry tomatoesgarnish
Instructions
Prepare a large baking sheet with parchment paper. Preheat your oven to 375°F.
Spread out the crescent rolls on the parchment paper. Pinch the seams of the dough together and press to seal them. Cut the dough into 2 ½ inch squares. Cut each square on the diagonal to create 2 equal triangles.
Next, place 1 cocktail sausage on the corner of the triangle piece of dough you previously created. Roll the cocktail sausage in the dough until you reach the end.
Arrange the dough-rolled cocktail sausages in a circular pattern to create the wreath. Feel free to stagger them or create your own design!
In a small mixing bowl, whisk one egg. Using a pastry brush, coat the dough with a layer of egg wash. Sprinkle with poppy seeds.
Bake in the oven at 375°F for 20 minutes or until they start to turn a beautiful golden brown.
Carefully remove from the oven and sporadically place the rosemary creating a wreath effect. Lastly, add the cherry tomatoes for additional garnish.
Serve on your favorite holiday platter and enjoy!
Notes
Storage:
To Store: Store leftovers in an air-tight container for up to 3 days.
Tips:
Make sure your crescent-rolled cocktail smokies are slightly touching when you arrange them so that the wreath stays connected when you slide it onto your serving platter.
I used about 30 cocktail sausages for this recipe. Each 12-ounce package has about 35 - 40 mini sausages.
If crescent roll sheets are available at your local grocery, they would be great for this recipe!
A pizza cutter works great for cutting the crescent rolls.
