Homemade Air Fryer Pizza Rolls are quick and easy to prepare with your favorite fillings rolled tight in a tortilla. The perfect finger food for parties, game day gatherings, packing in lunchboxes, or serving for snacks.
6ouncespackage of full-size sliced pepperoni (you will need 10 slices per pizza roll)
8string cheeseroom temperature
2-3teaspoonsextra virgin olive oil
Instructions
Spread 1 tablespoon of pizza sauce at the bottom of the flour tortilla. (leave ¼ inch at the edge of the tortilla)
Lay 10 slices of pepperoni on top of the pizza sauce.
Lay 1 whole string cheese on top of the pepperoni.
Carefully and tightly, roll the tortilla up. Lay the pizza roll seam side down. Repeat the process for the remaining pizza rolls.
Remove the basket from the air fryer and lightly spray it with nonstick cooking spray. Leave the basket out and preheat the air fryer to 375°F. (This should only take 3-4 minutes)
Use a pastry brush to brush the olive oil over the tops of the pizza rolls.
Lay 3-4 pizza rolls, depending on the size of your air fryer basket, into the basket. Leave a little space between the pizza rolls. Cook for 9-10 minutes, or until golden brown. Serve while warm.
Notes
Storage:
To Store: Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
To Freeze: You can freeze the uncooked pizza rolls for up to 1 month. Allow the pizza rolls to thaw in the refrigerator overnight before cooking.
Tips:
If the tortillas are either cold or a little on the stiff side, you can heat the tortillas in the microwave for 20-25 seconds to make them a bit more pliable.
You can use the string cheese straight out of the refrigerator, but allowing the cheese to come to room temperature will give a meltier pizza roll.
You can substitute vegetable oil for olive oil. I do not recommend brushing the pizza rolls with butter, as that may cause the tortilla to burn.
