Arrange the cookies in a single layer on a baking tray.
1 packet fudge-covered cookies
Divide the frosting into small bowls, one for each color you plan to use. Add the food coloring to the frosting until the desired color is achieved.
16 ounce tub of white frosting, Food coloring
Add each frosting color to a piping or sandwich bag with the corner cut off. Place a dollop of frosting about the size of a chocolate kiss in the center on top of each cookie.
Press one chocolate kiss down into the center of the frosting to create the top of the hat. As you press down, the frosting will create a ring of color slightly larger than the kiss.
18 Chocolate kisses
Add one M&M to the band of frosting on each cookie to create the buckle.
18 Mini yellow M&Ms
Allow the frosting to set for 15-20 minutes before enjoying the witch hats.
Notes
Storage:Store your cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to one week.Tips:
The number of servings in this recipe will depend on the number of cookies in your packet. I used Great Value Fudge Covered Peanut Butter Filled Cookies containing 18 cookies.
Depending on how many cookies are in your packet, you may have leftover frosting. The frosting can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 2-3 weeks. Give the frosting a good mix before using it.
If you plan to use only one color to decorate your hats, you can buy a tube of pre-colored frosting to make these hats even easier to assemble.
